His life in broadcasting, radio and TV is rich having previously been host of BBC Radio 2's drive time slot before his departure in 2006. He is perhaps most famous for being the host of Sounds of the 70s which began in 2009 and has been airing every since. Among some of his most prized possessions include his Sony Radio Awards which he won in 2004 for ‘outstanding contribution to radio’. Inside his home is just as interesting as it is said that he keeps his items with personal significance close to him at all times.
